PreNatal Yoga Workshops by MommyBwell

One of the most supportive forms of exercise during pregnancy is yoga.  Prenatal yoga is designed to teach practices, which support a woman’s body, mind and spirit, during pregnancy and beyond.  Using a combination of inner focus, the breath, and flowing movements, yoga assists a woman in preparation for birth.  The physical postures practiced in a prenatal yoga class strengthen, and tone the muscles, while stretching all of the major muscle groups.  The union of the breath to movement creates a type of meditative motion, soothing and relaxing the body, and mind.  The inner focus created during a yoga practice helps the mother to bond to her baby, and helps her to connect with her inner strength, and intuition.  Many of the postures, and breathing exercises practiced in prenatal yoga classes, which assist a woman through pregnancy, can also be used during the birthing time.

Join other pregnant women seeking a supportive and nurturing environment! This workshop is dedicated to the health and well-being of mother and child. All women, at any stage of pregnancy are welcome!

Inka Rector is a Certified Hypnotist, a certified Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, and DONA trained Doula.  Inka studied homeopathy at the New England School of Homeopathy in Amherst Massachusetts, and received her Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Cortland.

Currently, Inka is owner and operator of MommyBWell, Breathe, Balance, Become, a wellness education service offering yoga, Balanced Birth hypnosis, Doula services, and Mommy Coaching to mothers during pregnancy, birth and beyond. At MommyBwell, the focus is on healing through self-empowerment, and the development of inner knowledge and awareness through the mind-body-spirit connection.  Inka draws upon her years of experience in the fields of physical education and holistic health (including homeopathy, energy work, herbs and nutrition) to inform her practice and her teaching.  As featured on WAMC, Northeast Public Radio, Inka is a co-facilitator of “Empowered Birth”, a free alternative childbirth workshop designed to offer educational information about techniques to enhance pregnancy, labor and birth.

Inka is committed to helping families achieve the most positive birth experience possible.  She believes that “natural child birth” should be a positive, empowering experience for mom, dad and baby. By utilizing yoga, hypnosis, doula labor support, and coaching, birthing can be a comfortable relaxed experience, free from the preconceived notions held by many women in our society today.  Through education, I believe women will come to accept the birth process as a natural bodily function, occurring free from intervention.  As we reacquaint ourselves with our most basic function, connecting to the ability to revel in the experience of the birth of our children, we become more fully involved nurturing parents.  Creating a positive relaxed birth experience creates the most beneficial environment for both parents and babies. ” I look forward to working with women, and their birth partners, in fulfilling my vision of birthing naturally.”
